¡Hola, amigos y amigas!
One of the biggest reasons people forget Super Bowl advertisers soon after the game is that they spend so much money on ads that they don’t allow for a broader PR strategy that builds on earned eyeballs before and after the commercials.
Some know ways around this, though. Businesses can piggyback on features already slated for the game — just don’t use the words “Super Bowl” if you’re not an approved NFL partner (if you use “Big Game,” I’ll dismiss you).
Mira aquí: Foreign language app Duolingo is already generating publicity related to Super Bowl LX, even though it’s not an in-game advertiser. In a smart backdoor PR move, it forged a link to Bad Bunny’s halftime performance and tagged it “Bad Bunny 101.” (In case you didn’t hear, the Puerto Rican music sensation, aka Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, will entertain millions from the Super Bowl halftime stage, Feb. 8.)

Foreign language app Duolingo jumped on the Bad Bunny train for priceless Super Bowl publicity — with no in-game ads.
Duolingo hopped aboard the Bunny train during the NFL’s conference championship weekend with a 15-second animated short that translates Benito’s music from Spanish to English. Sports fans or not, viewers of Duo’s media are bound to embrace the squirelly owl for its PR play.
Duo’s tie-in is slated for a variety of outlets, leading to and beyond Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance. You could argue that the little green owl jumped on the biggest wave of off-the-field publicity since Taylor Swift started going to Kansas City Chiefs games. Bring on the prop bets.
P.S. About ads
📺 🐴 Duolingo went all out on creatives, but this Super Bowl LX commercial has already stolen my heart 🦅: (cut/paste if link doesn’t work) https://www.adweek.com/brand-marketing/a-clydesdale-and-a-bald-eagle-take-flight-in-budweisers-americana-super-bowl-ad

I told you so!
📺 🎧 Media media (media that cover media) and fans were all over Tom Brady’s case when he turned in lukewarm calls during his first year in the NFL on FOX Sports broadcast booth.
Getting used to the nuances of a live TV broadcast with dozens of people in the room and in your ear while concentrating on a game, even after practice calls, is not easy. I challenge anyone who criticized him last season to see how they fare after a few games. When people brought it up, I said to judge Brady — or anyone new to the booth— after two or three seasons. Nowwwww everyone’s in love with the future football Hall of Famer who swapped a helmet for a headset. I won’t say I told you so … well, I might if I see you. 😎
